Aparently it was all due to lack of training. It was the fact that the truck wasnt booked back in to the plant at the end of the day, so the system assumed the load had not been completed. Hopefully by now the plant staff have been advised as to what the procedure is so hopefully now this wont keep happening.

Why not go all out and offer all IHC’s a first aid course that would go towards there CPC and issue a first aid kit containing eye wash to all trucks?

Hi Chris as a member of the negotiating team last year can I ask if we miss understood you when you said during the discussions that empty running and guaranteed days payments would be based on the haulage rate at 1st April each year and not change when fuel changes.

If we have that is a shame as with the work situation in many areas at the moment there is great pressure on us to make the Owner driver model viable.

As the Guaranteed day is based on average 5 x 5 radial load for the entire fleet across the country it would be correct to presume that as there is now a lot more Euro 6 vehicles now on the fleet as you said during the negotiations this would have a positive effect for all of us. Can you tell us what percentage of the UK fleet is now Euro 6 and how this has increase since 1st April 2015?

In the Rate offer you said the Guarantee would be calculated as the rate stands on the 1st April each year. As the Fuel at the 1st April was £1.02 meaning the rate was higher as used for our back pay. Why now has the Guarantee been calculated using £0.93 fuel cost that wasn’t adjusted until September. Can you refer back to the offer made to us and advise please?

As it was put to me by a manager the reason they are not on the Web tool is it is too easy for them to just get passed with out being checked by some one in authority. So how about Cemex getting the radials right in the first place or putting pressure on who ever to check them properly. I see this paper method as actively deterring us from claiming. Sorry but that’s how a lot of IHC’s feel.
