Working on a proposal to gauge interest in an annual CEMEX U.K. inter-company football tournament;
i believe back in the days of RMC, there was quite a good inter-regional football league running which, unfortunately over the years of change etc. disappeared and was no longer able to function …
i am not suggesting that we bring this regional league format back (it would be great, but I think that the logistics of organising it would be too great a task) – but what I am suggesting is an inter-company format whereby we have a team from each business unit (readymix, cement, aggregates, logistics, IHC’s etc. etc.) that would encompass both operations, commercial, admin etc. …
of course organising this would take a bit of time and would require a certain amount of interest/numbers for this to happen – but it can be done, which brings me onto my questions …
1) who would be up for this?
2) how far would people be willing to travel?
3) do you think this is achievable?
my thinking is that a weekly/monthly playing schedule would be far too much to ask – therefore something like an annual tournament/series of matches would be the way to go here … with the winner taking home a trophy (and the glory!) …
please let me know what you think – and remember, it’s the taking part that counts!!! ( … it’s not actually, it’s the winning!!!!) …
